JonOne (born 1963 in New York) is a major figure in the transition from graffiti to contemporary abstraction. Emerging from Harlem’s underground subway culture, he developed a visual language rooted in rhythm, movement and the immediacy of gesture.
His work has evolved into a refined abstract practice while retaining the raw energy of its origins. Through layered compositions and vibrant chromatic fields, he bridges urban culture and contemporary painting, and is now represented in major international collections.
